In zahlreichen Interviews, Corona-Tagebüchern, Kommentaren und Berichten wurde in den letzten Wochen die Situation der Kulturbranche beschrieben und diskutiert. Unsere kommentierte Sammlung von mittlerweile 193 Quellen versammelt Stimmen aus unterschiedlichen Sparten und Medien. So entsteht ein Bild der Kulturlandschaft in der Krise, deren zeitliche Wandlung interaktiv über eine eigene Tag-Cloud erdkundet werden kann.


 

Jagt den Krimi in die Luft! . Literatur und Corona

Krisen halten für einen Moment die Zeit an und teilen unser Erleben in ein Davor und Danach. Eine der zentralen Aufgaben der Kunst ist es, von solchen Krisenzeiten zu erzählen. Eine Gattung, für die die Krise zum Kernelement zählt, ist der Kriminalroman und so wundert es nicht, dass die Krimiautorin Simone Buchholz in der Wochenzeitung »Die Zeit« über eine Neuausrichtung der Gattung reflektiert.
Um endlich einen festen Platz in der Gattung der Gesellschaftsromane zu erkämpfen, müsste der Kriminalroman eine ganze Reihe seiner bisherigen Merkmale über Bord werfen, allen voran das schlichte Erzählen und die deutsche Idylle. Stattdessen muss der neue Kriminalroman an den Grenzen des Genres rütteln, jede sichere Bühne verlassen und sich dem komplett Unbekannten hingeben. Im Zentrum dieses neuen Romans kann nur der Mensch stehen. Die Merkmale die Buchholz nun benennt sind sein Streben nach Wissen, seinen Sinn für Solidarität und eine Idee von gesellschaftlichem Zusammenhang. Das liest sich, als würde Faust mit Gretchen gekreuzt. Der neue Kriminalroman sollte auch Zeitzeuge sein und neben dem Zustand der Krise das Aushalten der Krise dokumentieren.  
Schafft sich das Genre damit selbst ab?, fragt sich die erfahrene Krimiautorin am Ende ihres Traums vom neuen Kriminalroman. Wir werden es erfahren, wenn ihr neuer Roman erscheint.

Das Team

Facing arts ist ein Projekt von STORM.

STORM spielt als Akronym mit den Namen Miriam Seidler und Tim Otto Roth, die wie viele anderen Freischaffende von der Corona-Krise betroffen sind. Miriam Seidler ist promovierte Literaturwissenschaftlerin. Sie publizierte u.a. ein Übersichtswerk zum Alter in der zeitgenössischen Literatur und ist Herausgeberin der Buchreihe Ästhetische Signaturen. Neben ihrer freien wissenschaftlichen Forschung arbeitet sie aktuell als Lektorin und Fachfrau für Öffentlichkeitsarbeit. Tim Otto Roth ist promovierter Kunst- und Wissenschaftshistoriker, Konzeptkünstler und Komponist. In seiner künstlerischen Arbeit ist er vor allem bekannt durch Großprojekte im öffentlichen Raum, Kooperationen mit führenden Wissenschaftseinrichtungen und seine immersiven Licht- und Klanginstallationen.
Miriam Seidler und Tim Otto Roth arbeiten schon seit vielen Jahren immer wieder in unterschiedlichen Projekten zusammen. Neben gemeinsam kuratierten Ausstellungen hat Miriam Seidler das Projektmanagement für Roths immersive Licht- und Klanginstallation [aiskju:b] und die Pressearbeit für verschiedene Projekte übernommen. Mit facing arts realisieren sie ihr erstes künstlerisches Werk.
